Red River is a charming New Mexico mountain town that attracts visitors with exceptional scenery and endless opportunities for outdoor adventure. The flagship of Red River recreation and the livelihood of the town, Red River Ski & Snowboard Area is a ski resort that boasts four lifts and over 50 trails. In the summer, the snow melts to reveal over 130 mi (209 km) of hiking trails, and bikers have the chance to ride the ski area's chairlifts and trails. This alpine village is also laden with parks that afford outdoor fun ranging from tennis to volleyball to picnicking. As well, whitewater rafting on the Rio Grande River is always a popular activity. Choose from a range of accommodations, including campgrounds, vacation home rentals, motels and rustic cabins while staying in the area. The many sights and attractions of Taos are also roughly an hour's drive away.
